Got questions about The Hub?
The REN-ISAC Information Hub (or The Hub) is a situational awareness and information-sharing platform backed by Cyware Threat Intelligence Solutions. The REN-ISAC will use the Hub to distribute alerts, threat intelligence, our popular Daily Watch Report, and other information products to our community. REN-ISAC members will also be able to share with and connect to each other through document collaboration and chat functionality. The Hub is accessible through customizable web and mobile apps, enabling you to personalize your information feeds to get the alerts and resources you need.
All new REN-ISAC members will receive their Hub invites once their membership has been finalized. Please note that Hub invites will expire in three days of receipt. If you have not recieved your invite or if your invite expired, please contact us to request a new invite.
The instructional video below will lead you step-by-step through the login process for both the web and mobile apps. Please note that you will not be able to login until you receive your “Welcome to the REN-ISAC Information Hub” email.
Once you have completed these steps, you should be able to access the REN-ISAC Information Hub.
The Hub currently offers two options for the two-factor authentication (2FA). You can receive your temporary one-time password (TOTP) either as an email or through a 2FA application such as DUO, Google Authenticator, or Microsoft Authenticator.
To set up 2FA upon first entry to The Hub
Register Your Hub Account: Sign in using the email address used for this account invitation and create a new password.
Choose Two-factor Authentication (2FA): The Hub will give you a choice of 2FA options: email or TOTP, a temporary one-time password using a 2FA. app on your phone.
- Email Option: You will receive an email with a temporary password, which you will be asked to enter upon signing in.
- 2FA App Option: You will be taken to a page containing a QR code, as seen in the image below.
Using a 2FA app on your phone such as DUO, Google Authenticator, or Microsoft Authenticator, add a new entry by scanning the QR code. Alternatively, you can manually enter the "Security Key" into your 2FA app. Once added, your 2FA app will give you a six-digit passcode that you will enter in as the "Authenticator App OTP."
To change your 2FA method
Login and go to your profile settings.
Under your profile picture in the settings area, you will see a section that says “Default 2FA Method.” Use this to choose your desired 2FA option. Screen shot below highlights the new section.
Email Option: When you login, you will receive an email with a temporary password, which you will be asked to enter upon signing in.
2FA App Option: When you login, you will be asked to use a 2FA app on your phone such as DUO, Google Authenticator, or Microsoft Authenticator to receive your TOTP, which you will enter in as the "Authenticator App OTP."
No. You will have separate credentials for the Member Registry and The Hub. To set up your Hub credentials, you will need to use the initial Hub invite email. See “How do I sign into The Hub?”
No. Your Hub account is for you alone and is not to be shared with others. Sharing your credentials violates the Information Sharing Policy, which all members have signed and are required to follow.
If you do feel one of your colleagues would benefit from the information in The Hub, the Management Representative for your organization can nominate that person for REN-ISAC membership. See the Management Representative Handbook for more information.
Locked out due to a forgotten or expired password? Use the “Forgot Password?” button on The Hub login page, and then follow the prompts to reset your password.
Locked out for any other reason or password reset is not successful? Please contact us.
The Hub provides recovery codes that you can use as a one-time password to log-in to your account. This makes it a lot easier for you to access your account in case you lose your phone and can't use the one-time password app.
If for some reason you do not have your recovery codes, contact us and request an administrative reset of the account. You will be given new recovery codes at that time.
Contact The Hub Support Team if you have any Hub questions or issues. Our support team is available Monday through Friday 8am – 5pm US Eastern Time.
All REN-ISAC member representatives and management representatives who have signed the “Information Sharing Policy” and have successfully passed the vetting process can access The Hub.
During the product roll-out, all currently enrolled members will be sent an invite to The Hub.
For new members, you will receive The Hub invite following the successful completion of your admissions process.
Through The Hub, members can access all REN-ISAC alerts, documents, and information products with a sharing guideline level of TLP:GREEN or stricter. This includes vulnerability alerts, membership statistics, Security Event System (SES) data, pDNS volunteer information, quarterly newsletters, the Daily Watch Report, and more. TLP:CLEAR resources will be shared on our public website.
We will also share information and alerts from governmental partners including Cyber & Infrastructure Security Agency, Department of Homeland Security, and other ISACS.
The Hub also provides a large listing of RSS feeds, so you can get your daily cybersecurity news and favorite podcasts through that feature.
The Hub also allows you to share information with and connect to other REN-ISAC members through collaborative documents, chat functions, and inter-organizational shared threat intelligence.
There are no plans currently to move our email lists to The Hub. We are considering how we may do something like this in the future, but as of now, our email lists will not be changing format or moving to The Hub.
As with the Wiki, The Hub will have security controls set up to limit access to certain types of documentation or information with limited sharing guidelines. For example, the Wiki contained information only available to OPS-level members. Members who were not in OPS could not access this information. The Hub will have the same type of sharing controls.
Access to the Member’s Wiki was retired on February 10, 2023. Member’s can no longer access the Wiki.
However, the content is now available through The Hub. Our team has transferred all major and recent content from the Wiki to The Hub, so you can access your favorite resources in the new portal.
Participation in The Hub is voluntary. Members are not required to have an account. However, there are multiple benefits to being in The Hub. It will be one of the main ways REN-ISAC will share information with its members. It will also provide unique ways to connect with other REN-ISAC members.
