The Research and Education Networks Information Sharing and Analysis Center (REN-ISAC), hosted at IU, is looking for an hourly Promotional Coordinator with communication/writing skills and an interest in technology. Information about REN-ISAC is available on our web page.  

Prior experience with/ knowledge of cyber security is not a requirement. However, candidates with an interest in this growing field can learn about it via experience in this position. A successful candidate should have the required qualifications listed below and will receive on-the-job training and opportunities commensurate with their skills and initiative.  

Each weekday, REN-ISAC prepares a Daily Watch Report to convey information about security news and events of interest to our members. Using established sources, this position will assist in collecting and summarizing online articles to include in the Daily Watch Report. This position will also be called upon to assist with the production and maintenance of web and printed content as well as occasionally contributing to outreach efforts via REN-ISAC’s social media. This position will also be expected to assist periodically with tasks such as tracking customer orders, following up with customer inquiries via phone and email, and occasional brief research assignments. 

Required Qualifications:

Must be available to work between 10 and 29 hours per week during typical weekday business hours.  Ability to use software for word processing, email, spreadsheets, editing, graphics, file transfer, and online communications. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills. Ability to read, understand, and analyze technical writing. Ability to clearly and accurately summarize written content. Ability to prioritize, set and meet deadlines, and take initiative. Strong editing, research, project management, problem solving, and collaboration skills.Speed, accuracy, attention to detail, and willingness to learn and ask questions. Comprehension of and adherence to confidentially practices described by US-CERT TLP guidelines.   

• Coursework/experience in English, Journalism, Computer Science, Informatics, or related arts and sciences discipline.  
• Coursework/experience with publicity and marketing 
• Interest in the field of Information Security
