Being nominated as a REN-ISAC Member Representative is the first step to accessing REN-ISAC resources and information sharing community; however, becoming a REN-ISAC Member Rep isn’t automatic or quick. To protect our trust community, the process requires a the following steps.
Your patience during this process is much appreciated!
Step 1: Complete your profile
To begin, you must complete your Registry profile using the activation link you were sent in the “REN-ISAC: Complete Your Nomination Process” email. Make sure to include your job title and job description in your profile. If you have any questions about the activation link or completing your profile, please contact us for help. Until this step is complete, your nomination cannot proceed to the next step.
Step 2: Vetting
Once your profile is completed, the REN-ISAC will send your nomination to be vetted by the community to which you were nominated (OPS, General, or Officer). During this step your patience is a virtue. We send nominations in batches, so your nomination might not be sent out right away. After the vetting request is sent to the community, it will be at least a week before your account is activated.
The vetting process allows the community to review your nomination for both professional trust and qualifications. While objections are rare, they do happen and are usually based on how well your job description matches the requirements for the community for which you were nominated. When we receive an objection, the REN-ISAC works privately resolve it with the objector and the Management Representative that nominated you. In some cases, it goes to our Membership Committee for resolution.
Step 3: Acceptance and access to resources
After completing the entire process (approximately 2 weeks), your Registry account will be activated. Only after this will you have access to the full array of REN-ISAC resources, other than your account profile. Check out the Start Here page for more on accessing your membership resources.
